			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The 2012 ACER Fair is tomorrow – Saturday, April 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hennepin Technical College, 9000 Brooklyn Boulevard, Brooklyn Park, 5544</p>
<p>The fair is a FREE, fun, family event!<span id="more-724"></span></p>
<p>Attendees can meet and network with K-12 schools; colleges &amp; universities; fortune 500 companies; and health and social service organizations, various other resources.</p>
<p>Activities include entertainment: Talent Showcase, food, free health screenings, ZUMBA &amp; YOGA classes, and door prize drawings.</p>
<p>Also, as part of “Making Transit Meaningful,” ACER’s project to engage with underrepresented communities along the Bottineau (Highway 81) Transitway Corridor, fair goers can “drop in” to an Open House to learn more about the transit project, look at maps of the proposed route, and ask questions of the project team.</p>
<p>The fair provides a &#8216;one-stop&#8217; approach for members of the community to learn about a variety of resources and services in an effective and culturally-appropriate</p>

<p><span id="more-698"></span> The Asian Pacific Teens’ Exposition is an event organized by the Council on Asian-Pacific Minnesotans (CAPM) to showcase the efforts of youth embracing and appreciating the fine arts, in particular dance, drama, film, music and writing.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s being hosted at the St. Paul Student Center at the U of M Twin Cities campus. The address is 2017 Buford Avenue, St. Paul, MN.</p>
<p>Community and student organizations have been invited to host a resource table from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the SPSC terrace. This will be an opportunity for organizations to inform guests about the services they can provide to Asian youth in Minnesota.</p>
<p>It will be hosted by The Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Council (APYC). The APYC is a leadership program of the Council on Asian-Pacific Minnesotans, a state agency created by the legislature to advise them and the governor on issues of importance to Asian Pacific Minnesotans. The mission of the APYC is to be the voice of their generation.</p>

Training is provided. <li>Homework Help tutors to help elementary through high school students with their homework.</li>

<li>Adopt-a-shelf volunteers who keep “their” shelves neat and in order. They come about once week, whenever it works.</li>

<p>The deadline for signing up is March 9th.<br />

It&#8217;s always smart to take the ACT at least twice. Other testing dates are <a href="http://actstudent.org/regist/dates.html">here</a>.<br />

<p>Tree Trust is currently hiring suburban Hennepin County youth to work in the Young Adult Conservation Corps program. The starting wage is $7.25 per hour, with possibilities for advancement. Youth will receive job training while working as a part of a crew to learn landscape and construction skills. The work schedule for this 12 week program is Monday – Thursday (8am to 4pm) and Fridays (8am to 3pm). Transportation can be provided if necessary and help finding employment is offered to those who complete the program.</p>
<p>Eligibility for all applicants is:<br />
To live in Hennepin County<br />
Be between the ages 18 -21<br />
Have valid ID<br />
Not be currently enrolled in school<br />
Be ready and able to pass a standard drug test.</p>

There will be a live DJ and refreshments for sale. You must present a student ID or Zanewood ID. It&#8217;s $2 admission for people wearing pink, red, or purple and $4 for every one else.</p>
